Aliza le Roux 12th International Mammalogical Congress

Aliza le Roux

I am a behavioural ecologist based in the mountains of Qwaqwa, South Africa. My research speciality is the cognitive ecology of wild mammals -- both carnivores and primates -- but I have also launched new projects on (peri-)urban ecology in Africa, and have published on student engagement techniques. I am a coordinator in the Afromontane Research Unit, actively steering our small campus towards a transdisciplinary research culture investigating the sustainable development of African mountain regions. My aim is to inspire young South Africans to love nature, and to combine behavioural research with conservation goals.
